Take a Hike
Are you the outdoorsy type itching for things to do while you enjoy your stay at the Occidental Lodge? Perhaps you would like to take a hike on one of the many trails located just minutes from downtown Occidental.
A fun 9.4 mile out-and-back hiking trail (also shared by cyclists) can be found on the Sonoma Coast State Park grounds and can be accessed from Willow Creek Rd. The park is quite expansive, containing many hiking and cycling trails. For a more detailed look at the adventures that await you, please check out AllTrails where they breakdown the various routes and provide maps.
Maybe you have a hankering to relax under the shade of some towering Redwoods? These ancient, gentle giants can be found at Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve in nearby Guerneville, Ca. Many hiking trails meander through the magnificent trees. For your convenience, please download the Armstrong Redwoods brochure.
If coastal endeavors are on your mind, please peruse Doran Regional Park, where you will be able to take in the cool coastal breeze as you walk along the beach.
